eTwinning project: "Green Entrepreneurs"

The past school year was a difficult one for teachers and students. We had to adapt to new ways of doing things in a very short time. However teachers who have been involved in eTwinning projects all these years, have probably adjusted to the new reality more easily. eTwinning projects gave students and teachers the opportunity to collaborate from a distance using digital online tools way before the quarantine!

During this ordeal and, most importantly, despite it, we managed to complete our project "Green entrepreneurs" with schools from Turkey, Italy, Croatia and Romania.

The aim of the project was to encourage students to act for the good of the planet, to become "Green Entrepreneurs" and to realize their responsibilities towards nature and the world. Through this project, we wanted our students to look at their daily habits and realize how they affect the environment, to learn what the causes of climate change are and what they can do to stop this crisis. We also wanted to enhance our students' critical thinking and creativity and encourage them to make decisions through collaborative learning.

The students worked both individually and in groups, in digital environments but also with traditional techniques. Specifically, they unfolded their creativity in creating a logo for the project, using digital tools (Paint, Canva) but also paper and colors according to their personal preferences. They gave a second life to packaging materials and waste to create a mascot. They worked as a team both with each other and with their collaborators doing internet research and exchanging views on the forum and in collaborative google docs to come up with specific suggestions for the good and bad habits and the images that were the materials of the "Green Game". They responded to digital questionnaires, wrote haiku poems, and created digital posters and comics about environmental issues, which they uploaded to a collaborative ebook.

If I were to choose between our ebook and the Green Game, the latter was by far the most interesting and fun thing that came out of this project. You can play it online with your students.

Have fun!
